i just don't like how they used so many partnering tricks to please the audience. i'm glad they incorporated ballet into dancing with the stars, but i don't think it should be all about the high jumps and lifts and spins. of course, they are amazing dancers, so they made it work.

@sjsicilia I know the Cuban Classical Ballet too. and it's been a work in progress since the 19th century that unfortunately hasn't flourished worldwide due to an un-checked ego manaiac, Alicia. Also, it was her husband Fernando that made her. I offered my true judgement on what you have posted and thanks for the elaboration. I agree, they are the best as far as I am concerned, the mix of the Cuban passion, with the classical ballet style.

you cannot offer true judgement unless you really know me and there is a lot of supporting evidence that supports my claim...I did not elaborate on my response...
I agree with you that Alonso did not do what was right...but at the same time Cuban ballet dancers are top dancers in companies worldwide and they honor their roots and culture...it is also great that they have incorporated American opportunities into their art too...it is now part of them as well....

it's great ballet got some recognition on a popular show, but i don't like the fact they had a black and a white swan since roles are played by the same dancer in the original choreography.

@toujoursetoiles I never knew you needed Alicia Alonson's blessings to live freely, and do whatever suits you on this Earth? Wow, that's eye-opening! I think your comments are ridiculous. If America gave them the opportunities, you think that that iniital training wouldn't have already become americanized? And processed foods and fast foods, you make a weak argument. America gives opportunities to all of those who want to take their talents and floruish, unlike Cuba.

I'm really not impressed with the choreography. The dancers are fabulous, however.

cuba trained them and america gave them the opportunities...america did not train them nor is it as capable overall of doing so... read "advanced principles of teaching classical ballet" by john white and it explains the problems of ballet in america...

dancers like lorena feijoo and jorge esquivel defected without alicia alonso's blessing. lorna is younger and defected with alonso's blessing, so she can come back and perform with ballet nacionale de cuba....some of that info is in pointe magazine and the san francisco chronicle plus i know lorena and her mom....great people....their careers flourished here in the states so just credit everyone....at least cubans have freedom to defect with alonso's blessing now....

american ballet did not train these dancers. american ballet is haphazard and that's why countries like cuba, russia, and france have better dancers...the training is more solid. the dancers have knowledge of the basic fundamentals. they did not try and rush through it as fast as possible, which can be prevalent in american culture in general....even in processed and fast food......cuban ballet training has a heavy russian influence as well as flourishes unique to cuba.

it is one of the main themes from from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake...listen to the music from the entire ballet...the music is amazing ;)

does anyone happen to know the song playing in the background?

Oh dios mio!!! Que belleza!!! Bravo por mis bailarines cubanos!

swan lake, the best classical ballet...ever!

JOSEEEEEE!!!

I agree with people!!!! WHERE are the tags for SFBallet, Boston Ballet, and ABT?

I wanted to cry this was so GORGEOUS! Jose partnered both "swans" to perfection, and this should provide the PERFECT EXAMPLE for the men on DWTS...a visual to what it means when ballroom people say, "the woman is the picture and the man is the frame!" Well done...

Bravo! they embodied the essence of Swan Lake. Jose Manuel worked very hard lifting both of them and making it look sooo easy. His turns perfect as his partnering.Lorena & Lorna were sensacional as Odette/Odile.

The entire ballet in 3 minutes.BRAVO!!!

100% cuban dancers! Bravo!

THESE ARE THE STARS of America's ballet. San Francisco, Boston and ABT. Their careers flourished here in the states when Alicia Alonso wanted to squash anyone better than her. This has nothing to do with the Cuban National Ballet and that tag should be scratched and the tags for San Francisco, Boston and ABt should be added.

Thank you for posting this! All 3 are amazing dancers. So funny that they put José Manuel Carreño in pants... like a dude in tights would disturb mainstream audiences or something, haha!

thank you much for this video, Codebear4.
i didn't realize how much i love classical music until now.

magnificent! one of my favorites...
